House Clearance

If you are dealing with an estate and need contents cleared so that a property can be marketed by your agents, we can arrange this service for you — advising which items we would be able to sell for you, clearing the residual items, and leaving the house clean for prospective buyers.

Our own crew and vehicles

We are somewhat unusual, as auctioneers, to have our own experienced and trusted crew and vehicles to carry out this service: we do not subcontract, preferring to keep complete control over what can be a delicate situation, where we are in a position of trust.

Whilst our crew are very efficient and have a job to carry out, they are sympathetic, and even after families have looked through a property on many occasions we have reunited families with personal items that otherwise would have been lost.

A four-pronged process

With full consultation, and whilst following the client’s instructions, a clearance is carried out in four stages:

1. Items of value to the salerooms — first we remove all items of commercial value to our salerooms. This is always given priority when booking our schedules, leaving valuables in an empty property for as short a time as possible. Once in our care, these items are fully insured.
2. Recycling to charity — secondly we recycle items of no commercial value, where appropriate, to charity shops; in some cases we can deliver to a specified charity shop. Belongings of loved ones can still benefit a charity, and rubbish disposal costs to the client are reduced.
3. Licensed waste removal — thirdly, as licensed waste carriers, we remove any remaining rubbish and clear the attics, sheds and garages to a landfill site.
4. Clean and tidy — finally, the property is left in a clean and tidy state, either ready to be marketed or handed back to the landlord.
